Playlisting 101: Why It's Worth It For Your Music

I wanted to talk to you about the importance of getting your music featured on Spotify playlists. I know you've probably heard this a million times before, but bear with me...

Getting your music on Spotify playlists is important because it exposes your music to a massive audience of potential new fans. According to Spotify, playlists are the most popular way for users to discover new music. In a survey of over 3,000 Spotify users, 69% of respondents said they discover new music through playlists. That's a lot of people!

But it's not just about getting more streams, it's also about getting more followers. A study by music analytics company Next Big Sound found that being featured on a Spotify playlist can significantly increase an artist's streams and followers. In the study, artists who were featured on a Spotify playlist saw an average increase of 37% in streams and a 22% increase in followers. That's pretty impressive, right?

And it gets even better. Another study by Next Big Sound found that playlisting can have a "multiplier effect" on an artist's streams. In the study, artists who were featured on multiple playlists saw a significantly larger increase in streams compared to artists who were only featured on one playlist. So the more playlists you're on, the more streams you'll get. It's like a never-ending cycle of awesomeness.

So if you want to grow your fanbase and get your music in front of more people, getting featured on Spotify playlists is a no-brainer. Just make sure to put your best foot forward and send your best tracks to those curators.
